Privacy policy
Last updated: November 6, 2026
DTCUP LLC provides Discount Lens for Shopify merchants. This policy describes data used by this app. Shopify’s own privacy policy also applies to information processed by Shopify.
Store installation and settings
We store the shop domain, Shopify authorization session information and access credentials, app display settings, interface language, settings revision and update time. We use these to authenticate the installation, save merchant choices and operate the app.
Discount codes and cart quotes
The storefront script reads discount codes granted through links or the current cart. It keeps these codes in browser session storage for up to 24 hours, with an in-memory fallback if storage is unavailable. It does not read the clipboard or search the merchant’s private discount-code library.
To request prices from Shopify, the script processes product variant IDs, quantities, line properties, selling-plan selections, country, currency and granted codes. Quote requests create separate Shopify API carts. The script may apply the selected eligible code combination to the shopper’s current cart and read the cart again to verify the result. It does not place orders.
Cart contents and quote responses are processed in browser memory and by Shopify. We do not maintain a customer-profile or order-history database for Discount Lens. Customer information intentionally entered into product properties is included in the relevant Shopify cart requests.
Subscriptions, hosting and technical records
Shopify manages subscription approval, trials, billing and cancellation. We query the installation’s subscription status to control access. We do not receive payment-card details.
The app backend is hosted on Amazon Web Services. Technical service and access logs may include request URLs, IP addresses, timestamps and errors for reliability and security. Support messages are processed when you contact us. We do not use the app to send shopper marketing messages or sell shopper profiles.
Deletion and your requests
On receipt of Shopify’s uninstall or shop-redaction webhook, the app deletes that shop’s active installation sessions and display settings. Browser storage follows its session and expiry rules. Shopify controls the retention of carts and billing records held by Shopify. Technical logs and support correspondence are separate from installation settings and may remain for operational or recordkeeping needs.
For access, correction or deletion requests, contact admin@dtcup.com and include the shop domain and request details. Do not send passwords, access tokens or payment-card information. Shoppers can also contact the merchant whose store they visited.
Changes to this policy
We update this page when the app’s data practices change. The date above identifies the current published text.
